{"id":21368,"date":"2024-07-20T00:23:28","date_gmt":"2024-07-20T00:23:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=21368"},"modified":"2024-07-20T00:24:36","modified_gmt":"2024-07-20T00:24:36","slug":"tragic-fire-claims-life-of-3-month-old-baby-in-enmore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/tragic-fire-claims-life-of-3-month-old-baby-in-enmore\/","title":{"rendered":"Tragic Fire Claims Life of 3-Month-Old Baby in Enmore"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>A devastating fire early this morning at Hope West, Enmore, East Coast Demerara, resulted in the death of a 3-month-old baby boy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident occurred while the baby was in the upper flat of the family&#8217;s wooden and concrete house, which they had rented for over two years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the time of the fire, the baby&#8217;s two-year-old sibling was in the lower flat, and their mother, Chandroutie Manickram, was in the bathroom. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manickram reported that she had just put the baby to bed and stepped into the bathroom when her older son alerted her to the fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Manickram, in distress, recounted her efforts to save her child but was unable to do so as the flames had already consumed the upper flat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fire spread quickly, and despite the arrival of fire services from Melanie and Mahaica Fire Stations, the blaze had taken its toll by the time they arrived.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Guyana Fire Service reported that the fire was reported at 10:25 a.m., and the first fire tender arrived at the scene approximately ten minutes later. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Following the tragic discovery of her child&#8217;s remains, Manickram and her family were taken to the hospital after collapsing in shock.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A devastating fire early this morning at Hope West, Enmore, East Coast Demerara, resulted in the death of a 3-month-old baby boy.
