{"id":21141,"date":"2024-07-08T16:10:54","date_gmt":"2024-07-08T16:10:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=21141"},"modified":"2024-07-08T16:11:05","modified_gmt":"2024-07-08T16:11:05","slug":"exxon-new-era-football-tourney-top-teams-receive-prizes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/exxon-new-era-football-tourney-top-teams-receive-prizes\/","title":{"rendered":"EXXON\/NEW ERA FOOTBALL TOURNEY &#8211; TOP TEAMS RECEIVE PRIZES"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>ExxonMobil Guyana rewarded the top teams and players in the recently concluded Linden Under 18 schools football competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The award ceremony, held at Shanghai\u2019s residence, celebrated the achievements of the participants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Christianburg Wismar Secondary School retained their title by defeating long-time rival Mackenzie High School in the ExxonMobil\/New Era Inter-schools football tournament held in April. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They received items valued at four hundred thousand dollars, including cleats for each player, a water dispenser, and footballs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mackenzie High School, securing second place, requested gear worth two hundred thousand dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>ExxonMobil has supported the tournament coordinated by New Era since its inception in 2019. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ryan Hoppie, Exxon\u2019s Community Relations Advisor, emphasized the importance of community investment and youth development through sports, noting the positive impact on schools and communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kwakwani Secondary, which won third place, requested windows worth one hundred thousand dollars for one of the school\u2019s departments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Linden Foundation, in fourth place, received gear valued at fifty thousand dollars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year, prizes included personal items for players. All participants received backpacks with stationery to support their academic pursuits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The tournament\u2019s MVP, Ferez Noble of CWSS, was awarded a cellular phone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kishaun Leacock of Kwakwani Secondary, who scored the most goals, received a laptop. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romel Sinclair, recognized as the best goalkeeper, also received a prize. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CWSS captain Kimani Fields was given a special award by Hoppie for his leadership skills. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Coaches and teachers involved in the tournament were also given tokens of appreciation.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ExxonMobil Guyana rewarded the top teams and players in the recently concluded Linden Under 18 schools football competition.
