The Center for Local Business Development (CLBD) has launched its ‘AccelerateHer’ program aimed at fostering the growth and leadership skills of women entrepreneurs across Guyana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative commenced on Friday with the participation of 25 selected women from various sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ‘AccelerateHer’ program is designed to support women who own, operate, or manage businesses, providing them with workshops, one-on-one mentoring opportunities, and a supportive learning environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, the program received applications from over 80 enterprising women, highlighting the demand for initiatives that empower female business leaders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In her address, Dr. Vindhya Persaud, Minister of Human Services and Social Security, underscored the importance of self-investment and seizing opportunities for personal and professional growth. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She emphasized that investment goes beyond financial terms, encouraging participants to explore all opportunities available to them, even those they may have to seek out themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minister Persaud challenged the participants to envision their businesses not just within the local and national markets but also on an international scale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She urged them to consider collaborative models and partnerships that could amplify their impact and extend their reach globally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program kicked off with a weekend Boot Camp, serving as the initial phase where participants engaged in activities such as brainstorming for growth, honing their business pitches, and developing business model canvases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This foundational training aims to equip women entrepreneurs with the skills and confidence needed to navigate and excel in competitive business environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ‘AccelerateHer’ program represents a significant investment in women’s economic empowerment, aiming to accelerate the growth of local small businesses led by women. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the participants progress through the program, they are expected to leverage their newfound skills and knowledge to drive innovation and sustainability within their enterprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
