{"id":21030,"date":"2024-07-02T15:52:24","date_gmt":"2024-07-02T15:52:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=21030"},"modified":"2024-07-02T15:52:25","modified_gmt":"2024-07-02T15:52:25","slug":"first-batch-of-guyanese-search-and-rescue-crew-graduates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/first-batch-of-guyanese-search-and-rescue-crew-graduates\/","title":{"rendered":"First Batch of Guyanese Search and Rescue Crew Graduates"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>This week saw a significant milestone in Guyana&#8217;s oil and gas industry as the first group of Guyanese Search and Rescue Rear Crew completed their training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Six Guyanese individuals, including Johnelle Ogle as the sole female member, are now certified as Search &amp; Rescue (SAR) Rear Crew with additional responsibilities in aviation security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The team comprises Curt Mendonca, Somant Heeralall, Daniel Yorris, Ishwar Parbhu, Kevin Sawh, and Johnelle Ogle, forming Guyana\u2019s inaugural civilian helicopter SAR unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reflecting on their training experience, Ishwar Parbhu noted the rigorous and dynamic nature of the SAR program over the past six and a half months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Daniel Yorris emphasized the team&#8217;s commitment to being there for people during challenging times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the graduation ceremony, Chief Investment Officer Dr. Peter Ramsaroop praised the new SAR team and expressed optimism about retaining their expertise as the sector grows. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also stressed the importance of attracting skilled diaspora members back to contribute to Guyana&#8217;s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The crew received training in Guyana, Canada, and the US, highlighting the comprehensive nature of their preparation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This achievement enhances Guyana&#8217;s emergency response capabilities in the oil and gas sector while showcasing the country&#8217;s commitment to developing local talent for critical roles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week saw a significant milestone in Guyana&#8217;s oil and gas industry as the first group of Guyanese Search and Rescue Rear Crew completed their training.
