{"id":20231,"date":"2024-06-06T16:43:53","date_gmt":"2024-06-06T16:43:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=20231"},"modified":"2024-06-06T16:44:31","modified_gmt":"2024-06-06T16:44:31","slug":"laba-senior-league-bounces-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/laba-senior-league-bounces-off\/","title":{"rendered":"LABA Senior League Bounces Off"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong>By Tracey Liverpool<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Linden Amateur Basketball Association\u2019s (LABA) 2024 senior league kicked off on Monday with an exciting doubleheader at the Amelia\u2019s Ward hard court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the first game, Victory Valley Royals showcased their skills against Block 22 Flames, securing a decisive victory with a score of 35-17. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second game of the night saw Retrieve Raiders facing off against Amelia\u2019s Ward Jets, with the Jets emerging victorious, winning 52-36.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The league will continue on Saturday with another doubleheader. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Block 22 Flames will clash with Central Amelia\u2019s Ward Kings in the first game, followed by a matchup between Victory Valley Royals and Amelia\u2019s Ward Jets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>LABA\u2019s president, Dawn Barker, emphasized that the league is part of the association\u2019s efforts to revive basketball in the town. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This follows the completion of LABA\u2019s under-17 school tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Five teams are competing in the league, vying for the top prize of one hundred thousand dollars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second-place team will receive seventy-five thousand dollars, while the third and fourth place finishers will take home fifty thousand and twenty-five thousand dollars, respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Tracey Liverpool The Linden Amateur Basketball Association\u2019s (LABA) 2024 senior league kicked off on Monday with an exciting doubleheader at the Amelia\u2019s Ward hard court.
