{"id":20162,"date":"2024-06-04T15:45:51","date_gmt":"2024-06-04T15:45:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=20162"},"modified":"2024-06-04T15:46:12","modified_gmt":"2024-06-04T15:46:12","slug":"guyanas-youth-environmental-speaker-competition-gears-up-for-next-round","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/guyanas-youth-environmental-speaker-competition-gears-up-for-next-round\/","title":{"rendered":"Guyana&#8217;s Youth Environmental Speaker Competition Gears Up for Next Round"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Fabiana McKlmon<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The search for Guyana&#8217;s next Youth Environmental Speaker is heating up! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After receiving a flood of video submissions from passionate young environmentalists, the competition, known as &#8220;SHOUT 2.0,&#8221; has narrowed it down to 30 finalists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Omesh Balmacoon, Competition Lead for Shout 2.0, explained the selection process. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Judges evaluated the videos based on factors like presentation style, environmental knowledge, and the feasibility of the proposed project ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The competition doesn&#8217;t stop here! These 30 students will now face three more phases, all happening on June 5th. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The first phase will involve a live-streamed event on the Recover Guyana Facebook page, allowing the public to witness the excitement firsthand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phase two will test the students&#8217; prepared speeches, while phase three throws a curveball with an impromptu speaking segment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only the top 10 will advance to phase four, the ultimate challenge \u2013 a question round that will determine Guyana&#8217;s Youth Environmental Speaker for 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This initiative by Recover Guyana and the Ministry of Education aims to empower young people to take action on environmental issues. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By participating in Shout 2.0, these students gain valuable skills and a platform to advocate for a greener Guyana.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Fabiana McKlmon The search for Guyana&#8217;s next Youth Environmental Speaker is heating up!
