In a bid to further improve learning outcomes among students, the Ministry of Education’s Guyana Learning Channel is set to introduce a new initiative called ‘BRAINIACS’ \u2013 a CSEC game show designed to engage students in a fun and interactive way. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Samuel Gillis recently visited one of their preparation sessions to learn more about this innovative approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anieshaw Mohamed, Head of the Guyana Learning Channel, explained that ‘BRAINIACS’ follows the format of the popular game show ‘Jeopardy,’ making it familiar and appealing to older children. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She emphasized the importance of engaging students with curriculum-based content in an exciting manner, providing them with an opportunity to enhance their learning experience both in and out of the classroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mohamed further elaborated that the game show will feature trivia-type questions related to the CSEC curriculum. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Students aged 15-18, including the last batch of students who sat the CSEC exams, are eligible to participate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game show will be launched in the upcoming week, with episodes culminating in a final round where the last contestant standing will win a prize based on their accumulated points throughout the competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The prize structure, as explained by Mohamed, offers contestants the chance to win a substantial cash prize, with the total amount estimated to be $300,000 or more for the ultimate winner. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This incentive aims to motivate students to actively participate and excel in the game show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To register for the competition, students can access the registration link available on the Guyana Learning Channel’s and Ministry of Education’s Facebook pages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

‘BRAINIACS’ has been developed with the aim of fostering learning and academic achievement among students, providing them with an engaging platform to showcase their knowledge and skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The introduction of ‘BRAINIACS’ reflects the Ministry of Education’s commitment to innovation and the continuous enhancement of educational opportunities for students across Guyana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
