Samuel Gillis reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During a recent meeting of the Central Executive Committee, the decision to host the congress over three days was confirmed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Incumbent Leader Aubrey Norton, who will be contesting for the leadership again, expressed confidence in his qualifications to lead the party, particularly as they approach the 2025 General Elections.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When questioned about the potential changes in the party&#8217;s leadership if his opponent, Roysdale Forde, is not successful, Norton noted that Forde had participated in the last election but did not secure a position on the executive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Norton, exercising his option as party leader, co-opted Forde as a member of the central executive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The final decision on Forde&#8217;s role will depend on the election&#8217;s outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It depends on how you lose and what is the party\u2019s perception,&#8221; Norton explained. &#8220;I am not operating here as Aubrey Norton; I am operating as leader of the party. If the party wants him, then I am open; if they don&#8217;t, I am still open.
