{"id":19713,"date":"2024-05-20T15:19:47","date_gmt":"2024-05-20T15:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=19713"},"modified":"2024-05-20T15:20:13","modified_gmt":"2024-05-20T15:20:13","slug":"us-based-guyanese-opens-new-medical-hub-in-region-3","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/us-based-guyanese-opens-new-medical-hub-in-region-3\/","title":{"rendered":"US-Based Guyanese Opens New Medical Hub in Region 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong>By Saskia Warrick<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Region Three&#8217;s economy continues to expand with increased private investments, the latest being the opening of a new medical hub by a US-based Guyanese medical professional. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Phillip McPherson, a seasoned Medical Emergency Practitioner with over 30 years of experience, has inaugurated the OLMAC Medical Hub in Vreed en Hoop, West Coast Demerara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McPherson embarked on this project two years ago, driven by a desire to give back to his homeland and provide high-quality medical care. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OLMAC Medical Hub offers a range of services, including dialysis, urgent care, dental care, and wound and diabetic foot care, among others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>McPherson shared the challenges faced during the project but emphasized his determination to see it through, driven by his deep passion for medicine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Health, Dr. Frank Anthony, lauded the investment, noting that it highlights the transformative changes occurring within the health sector and should inspire similar investments. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that such contributions are crucial as the health sector undergoes significant transformation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The OLMAC Medical Hub will feature a rotation of medical practitioners from the USA, ensuring the availability of multiple medical services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This development not only enhances the healthcare infrastructure in Region Three but also exemplifies the positive impact of diaspora investments on local communities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Saskia Warrick Region Three&#8217;s economy continues to expand with increased private investments, the latest being the opening of a new medical hub by a US-based Guyanese medical professional.
