{"id":19242,"date":"2024-04-29T23:08:35","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T23:08:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=19242"},"modified":"2024-04-29T23:08:36","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T23:08:36","slug":"healthcare-services-enhanced-in-region-nine-with-new-ultrasound-machines","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/healthcare-services-enhanced-in-region-nine-with-new-ultrasound-machines\/","title":{"rendered":"Healthcare Services Enhanced in Region Nine with New Ultrasound Machines"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Samuel Sukhnandan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure, Region Nine has received four new ultrasound machines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The machines were formally handed over to the Regional Democratic Council by Health Minister Dr. Frank Anthony over the weekend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These ultrasound units, acquired from General Electric for US$30,000, are set to benefit residents in Annai, Karasabai, Aishalton, and Sand Creek, eliminating the need for them to travel to Lethem for ultrasound services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Anthony emphasized that these additional machines will enhance the diagnostic capabilities of health facilities in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, Dr. Anthony encouraged Maternal and Child Health staff to utilize the ultrasound devices for assessing the well-being of expecting mothers and identifying any potential risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> Additionally, in collaboration with Mohawk College, the Ministry of Health will soon commence sonography training, with the initial group of participants already identified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Regional Administration of Region Nine expressed gratitude for the new ultrasound machines, acknowledging their potential to revolutionize healthcare delivery in the Rupununi region. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Similar units have recently been provided to other regions in Guyana, including Regions Three, Four, and Five, as part of efforts to expand and enhance healthcare services across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The introduction of these ultrasound machines marks a significant step forward in improving healthcare accessibility and quality in Region Nine, ultimately contributing to better health outcomes for residents in the area.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Samuel Sukhnandan In a significant boost to healthcare infrastructure, Region Nine has received four new ultrasound machines.
