{"id":19175,"date":"2024-04-29T14:03:23","date_gmt":"2024-04-29T14:03:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=19175"},"modified":"2024-04-29T14:03:26","modified_gmt":"2024-04-29T14:03:26","slug":"brainiacs-a-new-educational-game-show-for-csec-students","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/brainiacs-a-new-educational-game-show-for-csec-students\/","title":{"rendered":"Brainiacs: A New Educational Game Show for CSEC Students"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Delicia Janneire<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>CSEC students are in for an exciting educational experience starting in May with the launch of &#8220;Brainiacs,&#8221; a game show tailored to their syllabus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Produced by the Guyana Learning Channel in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Brainiacs aims to engage students in a fun and interactive way while reinforcing key concepts from the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) curriculum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The show, structured in a trivia-style format reminiscent of &#8220;Jeopardy,&#8221; will cover subjects such as Caribbean History, Mathematics, Science, Information Technology, EDPM, and Social Studies, among others. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Director of the Guyana Learning Channel, Anieshaw Mohamed, emphasized that the questions will be directly based on the CSEC syllabus, catering to students aged 15 to 18.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Brainiacs&#8221; will feature 10 episodes, each comprising three rounds of competition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested students can apply to be contestants by visiting the Guyana Learning Channel&#8217;s Facebook page, where a Google form application is pinned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mohamed explained that applicants should have achieved a 75% or higher pass rate in their previous and current academic years&#8217; exams, regardless of whether they attend private or public schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The game show builds upon the success of &#8220;Whiz Kids,&#8221; another educational program centered around Common Entrance exams. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to the thrill of competition, contestants stand a chance to win a significant cash prize based on their accumulated points throughout the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Brainiacs&#8221; aims not only to entertain but also to support students in their exam preparations by providing educational content within each episode. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With its innovative approach to learning, the show represents a creative initiative to engage and motivate CSEC students while enhancing their understanding of key subject areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia Janneire CSEC students are in for an exciting educational experience starting in May with the launch of &#8220;Brainiacs,&#8221; a game show tailored to their syllabus.
