{"id":18880,"date":"2024-04-18T21:30:02","date_gmt":"2024-04-18T21:30:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=18880"},"modified":"2024-04-18T21:30:29","modified_gmt":"2024-04-18T21:30:29","slug":"construction-of-bamia-primary-school-nears-completion-despite-challenges","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/construction-of-bamia-primary-school-nears-completion-despite-challenges\/","title":{"rendered":"Construction of Bamia Primary School Nears Completion Despite Challenges"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Shawnette Fiedkou<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Statement Investment Inc. is currently working to finalize the construction of the Bamia Primary School in Linden, Region 10. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite encountering various challenges, including material and labor shortages, Chief Foreman Akani Blair assures that the project is swiftly moving forward with a focus on quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The primary building spans an impressive 29,250 square feet, with an additional 3,540 square feet dedicated to the gymnasium. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once completed, the school will feature 44 classrooms, a science lab, a media center, male and female sick bays, an auditorium, a gymnasium, a music room, and two smart classrooms, along with staff rooms and other faculty offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the shortage of skilled labor for finishing work remains a persistent challenge. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blair emphasized the importance of having the necessary skills on-site to ensure the successful completion of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Awarded to Statement Investment Incorporated in November 2021 at a cost of $364 million, the original completion deadline for the project was July 2023. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the setbacks, the school is expected to accommodate approximately 800 students upon its completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bamia Primary School project is a significant endeavor within one of Guyana\u2019s largest housing schemes, aimed at enhancing educational infrastructure and providing quality learning environments for the region&#8217;s students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the challenges faced, efforts are underway to expedite the construction process and ensure that the Bamia Primary School becomes operational to serve the educational needs of the community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Shawnette Fiedkou Statement Investment Inc. is currently working to finalize the construction of the Bamia Primary School in Linden, Region 10.
