{"id":18704,"date":"2024-04-16T15:07:34","date_gmt":"2024-04-16T15:07:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=18704"},"modified":"2024-04-16T15:07:35","modified_gmt":"2024-04-16T15:07:35","slug":"government-distributes-steel-and-cement-vouchers-to-region-three-residents-for-home-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/government-distributes-steel-and-cement-vouchers-to-region-three-residents-for-home-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"Government Distributes Steel and Cement Vouchers to Region Three Residents for Home Construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Nakasia Logan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a bid to support homeownership and construction efforts, the government of Guyana distributed steel and cement vouchers to thirty-six residents of Region Three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The distribution event, aimed at facilitating the construction of homes, took place at the compound of Guyana Water Incorporated in Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara on Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Under this initiative, individuals constructing homes valued at six million dollars or less were provided with steel and one sling of cement to aid in the construction of their foundation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, those with budgets ranging from $6 million to $25 million received two slings of cement. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude for the support, highlighting the significance of the assistance in enabling them to start building their homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Housing and Water, Collin Croal, revealed that the program has injected over 40 million dollars into the economy of Region Three alone. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that the initiative has facilitated access to essential building materials for prospective homeowners, reflecting the government&#8217;s commitment to supporting citizens on their journey towards homeownership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, Minister Croal disclosed that a total of 167 vouchers have been issued under the steel and cement program in Region Three, amounting to an injection of approximately 41.7 million dollars. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He also noted that overall, the program has issued about 1,095 vouchers, injecting approximately 274 million dollars into the economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The distribution of steel and cement vouchers underscores the government&#8217;s dedication to promoting housing development and economic growth, as it continues to support citizens in their efforts to construct their own homes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Nakasia Logan In a bid to support homeownership and construction efforts, the government of Guyana distributed steel and cement vouchers to thirty-six residents of Region Three.
