{"id":18336,"date":"2024-04-11T15:01:53","date_gmt":"2024-04-11T15:01:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=18336"},"modified":"2024-04-11T15:01:54","modified_gmt":"2024-04-11T15:01:54","slug":"caribbean-investment-forum-2024-focus-on-agriculture-and-digitalization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/caribbean-investment-forum-2024-focus-on-agriculture-and-digitalization\/","title":{"rendered":"Caribbean Investment Forum 2024: Focus on Agriculture and Digitalization"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Saskia Warrick<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In preparation for the upcoming Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF) 2024, Agriculture and Digitalization have emerged as key areas of focus. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CIF aims to foster resilient and sustainable economies across the Caribbean region by providing investment opportunities in non-oil sectors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year&#8217;s forum will concentrate on three main areas: Sustainable Agriculture, Green Economy Transition, and Technology and Innovation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These sectors have been identified as having the potential to drive transformation in the Caribbean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Oneidge Walrond, emphasizes the importance of such investments in enabling sustainable growth and bridging economic disparities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She highlights the need for long-term, sustainable development rather than short-term gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Executive Director of the Caribbean Export Development Agency, Deodat Maharaj, underscores the Caribbean&#8217;s appeal as an investment destination. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He highlights the region&#8217;s strategic location, existing partnerships, and access to new markets, positioning it as an attractive option for investors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CIF 2024 is scheduled to take place from July 10 to 12 at the Arthur Chung Conference Center. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With over 700 investors expected to participate, the forum presents a significant opportunity for local businesses to capitalize on and partner with investors from across the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the Caribbean continues its efforts to build resilient and sustainable economies, the CIF serves as a platform for fostering collaboration, driving innovation, and unlocking opportunities for growth and development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Saskia Warrick In preparation for the upcoming Caribbean Investment Forum (CIF) 2024, Agriculture and Digitalization have emerged as key areas of focus.
