{"id":17801,"date":"2024-04-03T02:01:45","date_gmt":"2024-04-03T02:01:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=17801"},"modified":"2024-04-03T02:01:46","modified_gmt":"2024-04-03T02:01:46","slug":"minister-edghill-assures-completion-of-infrastructural-projects","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/minister-edghill-assures-completion-of-infrastructural-projects\/","title":{"rendered":"Minister Edghill Assures Completion of Infrastructural Projects"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Delicia Janniere<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Public Works Minister Juan Edghill provided updates on ongoing infrastructural projects across Guyana, expressing confidence in their timely completion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In Canal #1 and #2, as well as Belle Vue, works on four access bridges were initially stalled due to concerns raised by the National Drainage and Irrigation Authority. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Edghill highlighted the importance of these projects and emphasized the need to address water flow and canal maintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New designs have been developed to ensure project continuity, with completion expected in six weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C &amp; L Contracting is handling the construction of two bridges at Canal #1, valued at $171 million, while Rim Construction Inc. is responsible for the Canal #2 bridge, costing $89.7 million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Belle Vue bridge, valued at $78.4 million, is being constructed by Hanbel Garnett.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, progress is being made on the Kingston Wharf in a phased approach to accommodate ongoing operations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Edghill acknowledged the challenge of balancing construction work with ferry operations to Region 1. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite this, a modality has been devised to allow for continued construction while ensuring ferry operations remain operational, avoiding additional costs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Delicia Janniere Public Works Minister Juan Edghill provided updates on ongoing infrastructural projects across Guyana, expressing confidence in their timely completion.
