{"id":17712,"date":"2024-04-02T19:51:54","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T19:51:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=17712"},"modified":"2024-04-02T19:51:55","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T19:51:55","slug":"homes-in-dochfour-affected-by-road-construction-to-be-repaired","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/homes-in-dochfour-affected-by-road-construction-to-be-repaired\/","title":{"rendered":"Homes in Dochfour Affected by Road Construction to be Repaired"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Saskia Warrick<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dochfour residents impacted by the ongoing road construction will soon see repairs to their homes, according to Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The damages to homes in Dochfour are a result of the ongoing East Coast Public Road widening and improvement project. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thirteen homes have experienced internal and external cracks in walls, as well as breakage of windows.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten of these homes fall within the 30-meter work path designated in the contractor China Railway First Group&#8217;s contract, while four are situated approximately 300 meters outside of this path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Edghill has assured residents that a comprehensive survey will be conducted for all homes within the work path to address the issue promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Saskia-Dochfour-1.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to structural damages, residents have also raised concerns about heavy dust affecting them due to the construction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Edghill has directed the contractors to take necessary measures to rectify this issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Saskia-Dochfour-2.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The East Coast Public Road widening and improvement project, valued at 192 million US dollars, commenced in 2023 and is expected to be completed by May 2025.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Saskia Warrick Dochfour residents impacted by the ongoing road construction will soon see repairs to their homes, according to Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill.
