{"id":17668,"date":"2024-04-02T19:09:49","date_gmt":"2024-04-02T19:09:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=17668"},"modified":"2024-04-02T19:09:50","modified_gmt":"2024-04-02T19:09:50","slug":"rotary-club-of-garden-city-hosts-media-mixer-to-showcase-goals","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/rotary-club-of-garden-city-hosts-media-mixer-to-showcase-goals\/","title":{"rendered":"Rotary Club of Garden City Hosts Media Mixer to Showcase Goals"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>by Delicia Janniere<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown) organized a media mixer event last evening to highlight the club&#8217;s objectives and mission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Elect Melissa De Santos outlined the club&#8217;s areas of focus, which include environmental support, food security, and combating pollution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She discussed one of their recent initiatives aimed at promoting peace and preventing conflict, particularly addressing bullying in schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Delecia-Rotary-Club-1.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>De Santos elaborated on the project, mentioning plans for talks at schools, installation of peace poles, and benches in designated calm areas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These spaces aim to provide students experiencing conflict with a peaceful environment to relax and freely express themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, De Santos mentioned other projects close to the club members&#8217; hearts, such as a farm-to-table and cooking program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Delecia-Rotary-Club-2.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The farm-to-table initiative involves planting crops with the hope that they will be utilized in the kitchens of homes they support. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The club also executed a cooking program for cooks in several homes across Georgetown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among their various projects, the club is involved in distributing the &#8220;Eat WELL, Move Well for Good Health&#8221; Children&#8217;s Handbook, the &#8220;Empower Girls Now&#8221; Project, and upgrading the Computer Hub at the Mocha Arcadia Community Centre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rotary, an international service-based organization comprising business and professional leaders, operates on humanitarian missions worldwide. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With a global network of 1.4 million people, Rotary is dedicated to making a positive impact on communities worldwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>by Delicia Janniere The Rotary Club of Garden City (Georgetown) organized a media mixer event last evening to highlight the club&#8217;s objectives and mission.
