A prison escapee named Akeem Wong, posing as a traveler seeking food and directions, entered their home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After a seemingly ordinary interaction, the situation took a horrific turn as Wong launched a vicious attack with a cutlass, resulting in the deaths of David and his mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Family members, already reeling from recent losses, expressed profound shock and devastation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Paul and Carl Husbands, brothers of the deceased, struggled to comprehend the magnitude of the tragedy, lamenting the loss of multiple family members within a short span.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Crime scene investigators meticulously examined the area, documenting the brutal aftermath of the attack. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The bodies of the victims, bearing multiple lacerations, await a postmortem examination at the Bartica Mortuary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities are intensifying efforts to apprehend the prime suspect, Akeem Wong, believed to be the mastermind behind the heinous crime. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident compounds the family&#8217;s anguish, as they also seek closure for a missing relative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gale Husbands, Carl&#8217;s wife, disappeared a month ago, adding to their distress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Carl Husbands issued a heartfelt plea to the public for any information regarding his missing wife, emphasizing her vulnerability due to her health conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Amidst the tragedy, the community mourns the loss of David and Elizabeth Gomes, while fervently hoping for justice and the safe return of Gale Husbands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Nakasia Logan The serene atmosphere of Saxacalli Mission along the Essequibo River was shattered by a gruesome double homicide, leaving a family grappling with unimaginable grief.
