{"id":17520,"date":"2024-03-30T14:29:40","date_gmt":"2024-03-30T14:29:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=17520"},"modified":"2024-03-30T14:29:42","modified_gmt":"2024-03-30T14:29:42","slug":"upper-demerara-cricket-association-secures-victory-in-low-scoring-encounter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/upper-demerara-cricket-association-secures-victory-in-low-scoring-encounter\/","title":{"rendered":"Upper Demerara Cricket Association Secures Victory in Low-Scoring Encounter"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Eric Collymore<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In an intense match during the GFSCA Demerara Cricket Board\u2019s Under-19 Inter-Association tournament, the Upper Demerara Cricket Association (UDCA) clinched a thrilling victory over the East Coast team, thanks to a resilient last-wicket stand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The match, held at the Lusignan Cricket Ground, witnessed a low-scoring affair as the East Coast Cricket Association was bowled out for a mere 66 runs in 30.4 overs. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only Captain Nicholas Shiopersaud managed to reach double figures, scoring 17 runs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UDCA&#8217;s bowlers, led by fast bowler Renaldo Grenville (4\/11) and spinner Stephon Sankar (3\/6), along with Tyriq Walters (2 wickets), orchestrated the collapse of the East Coast batting lineup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite the modest target of 67 runs, UDCA faced a stern challenge as the East Coast team claimed nine wickets.
