{"id":17098,"date":"2024-03-08T19:08:30","date_gmt":"2024-03-08T19:08:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=17098"},"modified":"2024-03-08T19:08:32","modified_gmt":"2024-03-08T19:08:32","slug":"94-linden-residents-successfully-complete-board-of-industrial-training-programs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/94-linden-residents-successfully-complete-board-of-industrial-training-programs\/","title":{"rendered":"94 Linden Residents Successfully Complete Board of Industrial Training Programs"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong>By Shawnette Fiedtkou<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Close to a hundred residents of Linden have recently celebrated their graduation from various training programs facilitated by the Board of Industrial Training (BIT). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event marks a significant milestone in their pursuit of professional development and enhancement of vocational skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The graduation ceremony was characterized by a call to action for the graduates to uphold discipline and dedication as they transition into the workforce or explore entrepreneurial ventures. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With enthusiasm and determination, the newly certified individuals are poised to contribute to the economic growth and industrial development of the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the training period, participants were equipped with essential skills in several key areas including Welding and Fabrication, Electrical Installation, Small Engine Repairs, Joinery, and Heavy-Duty Machine Operation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This diverse skill set positions them favorably in the job market, providing opportunities for employment in various sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joseph Hamilton, the Minister of Labour, delivered an inspiring address to the graduates, urging them to embrace the concept of multi-skilling in today&#8217;s competitive job landscape. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He emphasized that relying solely on a single skill is no longer sufficient and encouraged the graduates to aspire to be multi-skilled and multi-talented professionals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Notably, Minister Hamilton commended the increasing number of women participating in traditionally male-dominated trades. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He underscored BIT&#8217;s commitment to gender equality and empowerment, highlighting the importance of inclusivity in vocational training programs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dwight John, the Regional Executive Officer of Region 10, also took the opportunity to commend BIT for its dedication to skills development within the community. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He acknowledged the organization&#8217;s efforts in certifying over a thousand residents in various skill sets since 2021, indicating a significant investment in human capital development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing their appreciation for the training opportunity, graduates shared their experiences and aspirations for the future. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mackeda Richardson, one of the graduates, described the training as enriching and emphasized the importance of striving for excellence in all endeavors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Colin Bascom, another graduate, echoed similar sentiments, stating that the journey was incredible and emphasized the need to continually develop oneself to achieve success in today&#8217;s dynamic world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking forward, Tenesha Dennis-Pollydore, Technical Officer for BIT Region 10, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming batch of training sessions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She reiterated BIT&#8217;s commitment to providing quality vocational training and highlighted the organization&#8217;s role in fostering continuous skills development within the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The graduation ceremony serves as a testament to the effectiveness of BIT&#8217;s training programs in equipping residents with practical skills essential for employment and entrepreneurship. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Linden residents embark on their professional journeys, they carry with them the knowledge and expertise gained through the BIT training, poised to make meaningful contributions to the region&#8217;s industrial and economic landscape.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Shawnette Fiedtkou Close to a hundred residents of Linden have recently celebrated their graduation from various training programs facilitated by the Board of Industrial Training (BIT).
