{"id":16950,"date":"2024-02-28T19:26:38","date_gmt":"2024-02-28T19:26:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=16950"},"modified":"2024-02-28T19:26:42","modified_gmt":"2024-02-28T19:26:42","slug":"vigilance-home-consumed-by-fire-leaving-family-homeless","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/vigilance-home-consumed-by-fire-leaving-family-homeless\/","title":{"rendered":"Vigilance Home Consumed by Fire, Leaving Family Homeless"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>By Nakasia Logan<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A devastating mid-morning fire has left a family of eight homeless after engulfing their home in Vigilance, East Coast Demerara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aubrey Matthews, a forty-eight-year-old mechanic, and his family were left without shelter as the fire ravaged their one-flat wooden structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Matthews, who was working nearby at the time of the incident, recounted the harrowing experience as his daughters alerted him to the fire in one of the bedrooms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite his efforts to extinguish the flames, the fire spread rapidly, leaving them with little recourse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Expressing his shock and distress, Matthews lamented the loss of millions, including most of his mechanical tools essential for his trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I\u2019m feeling, I\u2019m trying to be normal.
