Lodge Housing Scheme resident Cliford “Alabama” Charles has made history by clinching the title of Guyana’s first Dancehall Monarch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His electrifying performance captivated audiences and secured him the coveted crown on Sunday night at the Kitty Seawalls. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The spotlight was on Alabama as he mesmerized the crowd with his hit song “One Dan” at the venue near the 1823 monument in Kitty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

His captivating performance stole the show, earning him the inaugural Dancehall Monarch title.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Latesha Welch, known by her stage name Mattick Queen, claimed the second position with her powerful entry “Woman Empowerment.” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Alvin Pompey, also known as Fame A, secured the third position with his song “Rich Life,” while Gabriela Rodriguez, performing as Gaby Luv, took the fourth position with her entry “Mamacita.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The competition was fierce, with other talented artistes vying for the crown, including YoungVilla, Calvin Burnette, Lady T, Chan Dan, Diamond Ras, Shemar Gray, Kautic, and Wezzle, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This addition to the 2024 Mashramani calendar of events marks the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Sport’s initiative to enhance and diversify the festival, enriching Guyana’s cultural landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
