{"id":16864,"date":"2024-02-27T19:23:13","date_gmt":"2024-02-27T19:23:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=16864"},"modified":"2024-02-27T19:23:14","modified_gmt":"2024-02-27T19:23:14","slug":"linden-library-enhances-community-engagement","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/linden-library-enhances-community-engagement\/","title":{"rendered":"Linden Library Enhances Community Engagement"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong><em>By Shawnette Fiedtkou<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Library in Linden is expanding its programs to promote reading and learning across all age groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over the weekend, it organized a vibrant Mashramani parade at McKenzie, showcasing its commitment to community engagement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The National Library Linden Branch is dedicated to integrating various programs to attract learners and readers of all ages. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Members of the storytime program enthusiastically participated in a road parade that commenced at the Regional Education Department office. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Senior Professional Librarian Annis Craig led the procession, highlighting the library&#8217;s dedication to fostering literacy and cultural celebration in Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The parade culminated at the Linden Theme Park, where participants enjoyed a captivating storytime program. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Annis Craig emphasized the library&#8217;s efforts to ensure inclusivity, stating that it provides programs catering to individuals from 6 years old to adulthood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, the library offers a diverse range of interactive sessions, including a seniors&#8217; program called Library Link, a young adult club, storytime for children, puzzle fixing, DIY crafts, and training in public speaking with read-aloud sessions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other programs such as Science Corner, Numbers and Me, and Impromptu Speech aim to enrich learning experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All programs are offered free of charge, encouraging community members to take advantage of the opportunities for personal growth and development. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested individuals are encouraged to visit the library for more information on how to get involved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Shawnette Fiedtkou The National Library in Linden is expanding its programs to promote reading and learning across all age groups.
