Brigadier Mark Phillips emphasized the significance of a well-trained local workforce in driving Guyana&#8217;s tourism sector during the sod-turning ceremony for the construction of the first modern state-of-the-art Hospitality and Tourism Training Institute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ceremony marked the commencement of construction on the US$7.2M institute located at Port Mourant on the Corentyne. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once completed, the institution will provide world-class training in hospitality, tourism, and related fields, offering countless opportunities for Guyanese.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Minister Mark Phillips underscored the importance of a well-trained workforce in enhancing service quality, attracting more tourists, and boosting revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ROYAN-SOD-TURNING-INSERT-1-1.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Royan emphasized that the establishment and support of such an institute represent a strategic investment in Guyana&#8217;s human resource capacity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By equipping individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge, the institute aims to empower the workforce and lay the foundation for a sustainable and thriving tourism industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The construction of the Hospitality and Tourism Training Institute is a collaborative effort involving the Ministries of Finance, Education, Tourism Industry and Commerce, and the Caribbean Development Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/ROYAN-SOD-TURNING-INSERT-2.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Tourism highlighted the unprecedented level of investment in the tourism and hospitality sector, signaling confidence from international investors in Guyana&#8217;s safety and potential. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The institute aims to ensure that the skills required to manage the sector are readily available in Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister of Local Government and Regional Development, Sonia Parag, described the institute as a symbol of progress and a testament to the government&#8217;s commitment to excellence and the country&#8217;s future development.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Royan Abrams Prime Minister Ret.
