{"id":16617,"date":"2024-02-20T21:41:45","date_gmt":"2024-02-20T21:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=16617"},"modified":"2024-02-20T21:41:46","modified_gmt":"2024-02-20T21:41:46","slug":"us13m-port-mourant-oil-gas-facility-provides-world-class-training-in-guyana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/us13m-port-mourant-oil-gas-facility-provides-world-class-training-in-guyana\/","title":{"rendered":"US$13M Port Mourant Oil &amp; Gas Facility Provides World-Class Training in Guyana"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p><strong><em>By Royan Abrams<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Dr. Irfaan Ali has inaugurated a US$13 million Facility Simulator in Port Mourant, Berbice, aimed at providing world-class certification to Guyanese individuals trained there. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This state-of-the-art facility marks a significant step in enhancing the country&#8217;s technical and competency-based skills training, particularly in the rapidly growing oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the commissioning ceremony, President Ali emphasized that the facility&#8217;s purpose extends beyond oil and gas, emphasizing the transformation of Guyana and the development of world-class training facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> He underscored the importance of equipping local human resources with the necessary skills and certifications to compete globally. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Ali expressed his vision for Guyanese graduates to be sought after worldwide while also encouraging them to contribute to the country&#8217;s development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Facility Simulator is the first phase completed as part of the campus for the Guyana Technical Training College Inc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>President Ali highlighted the significance of this multi-disciplinary campus, conceptualized just two years ago, in providing technical training across various sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two graduates from the initial batch of 24 trainees shared their experiences with NCN Guyana. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Joshua Gouveia expressed appreciation for the comprehensive training program, particularly its focus on preparing individuals for offshore work. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Preya Singh described the opportunity to be among the first participants in the training as an honor, emphasizing the learning experience and encouraging others to join.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Facility Simulator is a collaborative effort between the Government of Guyana and the co-venturers of the Stabroek Block, including ExxonMobil Guyana Limited, Hess Corporation, and CNOOC.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The commissioning of this facility marks a significant milestone in Guyana&#8217;s journey towards developing a skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of the evolving oil and gas sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Royan Abrams President Dr. Irfaan Ali has inaugurated a US$13 million Facility Simulator in Port Mourant, Berbice, aimed at providing world-class certification to Guyanese individuals trained there.
