{"id":15411,"date":"2024-01-11T15:18:44","date_gmt":"2024-01-11T15:18:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=15411"},"modified":"2024-01-11T15:18:45","modified_gmt":"2024-01-11T15:18:45","slug":"over-2600-young-amerindians-benefit-from-csos-programme-in-three-years","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/over-2600-young-amerindians-benefit-from-csos-programme-in-three-years\/","title":{"rendered":"Over 2,600 Young Amerindians Benefit from CSOs Programme in Three Years"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The Community Support Officers (CSOs) programme in Guyana has made significant strides, providing skills training to over 2,600 young Amerindians in the past three years. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Delecia-2024-CSOs-Review-1.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the previous year alone, the Amerindian Affairs Ministry recorded substantial participation in various training courses under the CSOs programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Pauline Sukhai shared the achievements in a press briefing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-audio\"><audio controls src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/01\/Delecia-2024-CSOs-Review-2.mp3\"><\/audio><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The training included 402 CSOs, comprising both males and females, in garment construction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, 137 individuals received training in small engine repairs, 62 in tourism and hospitality, and 73 in tractor operation and maintenance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This totaled to 402 trained individuals, with 181 males and 221 females benefiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Sukhai provided further insights into the overall impact of the CSOs programme, stating that over the last three years, it has engaged 2,645 young Amerindians. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The beneficiaries encompass males, females, single parents, and individuals with specific needs, such as artists and those above the age of 35.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the preceding year, the ministry allocated 1.4 billion dollars for the Youth Entrepreneurship and Apprenticeship Programme, contributing to the capacity building of CSOs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The CSOs programme has emerged as a valuable initiative, empowering the youth in Amerindian communities by providing them with essential skills and training opportunities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Community Support Officers (CSOs) programme in Guyana has made significant strides, providing skills training to over 2,600 young Amerindians in the past three years.
