Over the weekend, the Ministry of Education ground witnessed intense matches in the MVP Sports Under-11 Football competition, with St. John the Baptist, Marian Academy, and West Ruimveldt securing big wins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

St. John the Baptist Primary emerged as the day’s biggest winner, defeating Genesis Primary 5-0. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shemia Hing showcased exceptional skills, registering a hat-trick for her team. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The scoring spree began with Hing opening the scoreline in the 4th minute, followed by Neisa Lewis in the 6th minute. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jaziah Rodrigues tripled the lead in the 17th minute, and Hing returned to record a double, securing a convincing victory for St. John the Baptist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marian Academy also dominated their match, securing a 4-0 win over Linden’s One Mile Primary. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skylar De Nobrega led Marian with a quadruple, while Chrissyanne Persaud added another goal to the tally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In another impressive performance, West Ruimveldt defeated St. Aloysius Primary 4-0. Ariel Farley led her school with a hat-trick, netting in the 4th, 5th, and 15th minutes of play, while Thea Valentine scored the other goal in the 40th minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The opening clash featured Tucville Primary securing a 1-0 victory over Smith’s Memorial, with Wolette Griffith scoring the lone goal in the 32nd minute.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Potaro Primary faced off against F.E. Pollard Primary, with Alesha Gonsalves putting Potaro in the lead in the first half. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A second-half strike from Reniese Joseph sealed the 2-0 victory for Potaro Primary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the final encounter of the day, North Georgetown Primary needed penalty kicks to secure a 2-1 victory over Friendship Primary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The winning sides, along with defending champions North Georgetown, have advanced to the quarter-finals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tournament’s ultimate winner will receive $150,000 towards a school project and a trophy. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Second, third, and fourth-place finishers will receive $100,000, $75,000, and $50,000, respectively, also towards a school project, along with individual prizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
