In a display of athletic prowess, Guyana’s junior quarter-miler, Tianna Springer, showcased her dominance at the Inter-Guiana Games (IGG) with a remarkable run in the women’s 400 meters. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Springer clocked an impressive 59.16 seconds, securing the gold medal and leaving French Guiana’s Lafontaine Tara in second place, with Guyanese athlete Joanna Anthon claiming the third spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jevon Roberts added to Guyana’s gold medal tally with a stellar performance in the men’s 1500-meter final, crossing the finish line in four minutes and 30.47 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jamol Sullivan, also from Guyana, secured the silver medal, while Suriname’s Isaiah Jacott claimed the bronze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sprints saw outstanding performances from Athaleyha Hinckson, who surged to gold in 12.61 seconds in the women’s category, and Ezekiel Newton, who secured the men’s title with a swift 11.23 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Newton’s teammate, Jaheel Cornette, finished in third place with a time of 11.55 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the women’s 1500-meter race, Marissa Thomas and Esther McKinnon clinched the first and second-place honors, while French Guiana’s Mazonoe Lilienne secured the third spot. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thomas completed the race in five minutes and 30.53 seconds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The boy’s 13-17 400-meter finals witnessed another triumph for Guyana, with Afi Blair securing gold in 52.73 seconds and Enoch Munroe taking the silver medal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In field events, Guyanese athletes excelled in the shot put throw, claiming gold and bronze through Jamie Fraser and Jaheme Henry. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Letifah James secured the silver medal in the women’s shot put, with French Guiana’s Metella Janaell taking the top spot and another Guyanese, Tamara Mingo, finishing in fourth place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
