{"id":13551,"date":"2023-10-27T23:04:12","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T23:04:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=13551"},"modified":"2023-10-27T23:04:13","modified_gmt":"2023-10-27T23:04:13","slug":"hope-secondary-school-students-excel-in-karate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/hope-secondary-school-students-excel-in-karate\/","title":{"rendered":"Hope Secondary School Students Excel in Karate"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Several students from Hope Secondary School have achieved certification in karate following their grading by Jeffrey Wong, Chief Instructor and Chairman of the International Karate-do Organization&#8217;s Academy of Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The IKO Academy, in partnership with the Ministry of Education&#8217;s Unit of Allied Arts, initiated a training program aimed at introducing karate to schools in regions 4 and 5, including Georgetown.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Swabrien Khan-Jodhan, Acting Head Teacher, expressed gratitude for the support from IKO Academy Guyana, emphasizing the positive impact of the program on students&#8217; overall development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A total of 10 students received certificates after successfully completing their grading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The karate in schools program prioritizes training teachers to become instructors, with the aim of incorporating karate as a subject for Caribbean examination counsel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The initial phase of the program is scheduled to span three months, during which the first group of teachers will receive certification from IKO Guyana.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Several students from Hope Secondary School have achieved certification in karate following their grading by Jeffrey Wong, Chief Instructor and Chairman of the International Karate-do Organization&#8217;s Academy of Guyana.
