{"id":13540,"date":"2023-10-27T22:49:13","date_gmt":"2023-10-27T22:49:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=13540"},"modified":"2023-10-27T22:49:15","modified_gmt":"2023-10-27T22:49:15","slug":"enhancing-education-infrastructure-in-region-three","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/enhancing-education-infrastructure-in-region-three\/","title":{"rendered":"Enhancing Education Infrastructure in Region Three"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Investments in education continue to positively impact the lives of children in Region Three. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Leonora Secondary School welcomed two new dormitories and the Stewartville Secondary School inaugurated a cutting-edge Smart Classroom, all commissioned on Monday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The male and female dormitories at Leonora Secondary, constructed at a cost of $75 million, will provide accommodation for 23 students, facilitating easier access to education for those hailing from nine communities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Education Minister Priya Manickchand emphasized the strategic location of the dorms, ensuring proximity to essential facilities like hospitals, fire stations, and police stations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dorms are also equipped with fire prevention tools and other amenities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Simultaneously, the Stewartville Secondary School introduced a state-of-the-art Smart Classroom, integrating technology into the educational system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This facility boasts an interactive board, audio system, smart cameras, and wireless television, enabling seamless communication between teachers and students. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Minister Manickchand highlighted that this initiative aims to bridge educational disparities, ensuring quality education reaches every region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government&#8217;s commitment to achieving universal education in Guyana encompasses school construction and rehabilitation, establishment of smart classrooms, and access to learning materials. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By the end of this year, an additional 25 smart classrooms are slated to be established in secondary schools nationwide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Trichell Sobers, NCN News<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Investments in education continue to positively impact the lives of children in Region Three.
