{"id":13313,"date":"2023-10-17T21:47:57","date_gmt":"2023-10-17T21:47:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=13313"},"modified":"2023-10-17T21:47:58","modified_gmt":"2023-10-17T21:47:58","slug":"ethnic-relations-commission-engages-linden-community","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/ethnic-relations-commission-engages-linden-community\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethnic Relations Commission Engages Linden Community"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) conducted its inaugural community outreach in Linden, Region 10, since its reconstitution. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite a low turnout, the event proceeded as planned, with Chief Executive Officer Gomin Camacho and five commissioners engaging residents at the Watooka Guest House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Camacho reiterated the ERC&#8217;s mission to foster harmony and positive relations among Guyana&#8217;s six ethnic groups and various religious communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> He highlighted the commission&#8217;s intention to employ education and mediation to address racial tensions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman Shaikh Moeen-ul-Hack emphasized the ERC&#8217;s apolitical nature and its reliance on public participation to fulfill its mandate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During their visit to Linden, the ERC also held educational sessions at local schools and engaged with the Regional Democratic Council and the Linden Mayor and Town Council.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The ERC&#8217;s next community outreach will take place in Region 2 at the Cottonfield Secondary School on Saturday.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Ethnic Relations Commission (ERC) conducted its inaugural community outreach in Linden, Region 10, since its reconstitution.
