{"id":13299,"date":"2023-10-17T21:36:48","date_gmt":"2023-10-17T21:36:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=13299"},"modified":"2023-10-17T21:36:49","modified_gmt":"2023-10-17T21:36:49","slug":"progress-report-diamond-regional-hospital-construction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/progress-report-diamond-regional-hospital-construction\/","title":{"rendered":"Progress Report: Diamond Regional Hospital Construction"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Construction work for the new Diamond Regional Hospital is advancing smoothly, with preparations for Phase Two underway. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Leslie Ramsammy, Advisor to the Minister of Health, shared the latest update on the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The new Diamond Regional Hospital, a government initiative, is scheduled for completion by December 2024. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once finished, it will feature 75 beds, three operating theatres with basic surgical capacity, and modern digitalized systems, including a full radiology diagnostic suite, bringing it on par with the New Amsterdam and Linden hospitals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Ramsammy affirmed that construction is on track, with the contractor striving to meet the established deadline. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Foundation work is complete, and steel frames are slated for installation, targeting completion by the end of January. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The aim is to have the hospital ready for commissioning by December 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, the new hospital will offer services such as the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Addressing concerns about the existing Diamond Diagnostic Hospital, Dr. Ramsammy stated that there are no plans to phase it out, considering the population it serves on the East Bank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Contracts for four other hospitals in Lethem, Kato, Kamarang, and Moruca will soon be tendered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, upgrades are underway at Georgetown, New Amsterdam, Linden, Mabaruma, and Mahdia hospitals. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These enhancements will elevate the status of these healthcare facilities, ensuring improved access and higher standards of care nationwide.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Construction work for the new Diamond Regional Hospital is advancing smoothly, with preparations for Phase Two underway.
