{"id":13271,"date":"2023-10-17T21:19:25","date_gmt":"2023-10-17T21:19:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=13271"},"modified":"2023-10-17T21:19:26","modified_gmt":"2023-10-17T21:19:26","slug":"man-jailed-for-2019-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/man-jailed-for-2019-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"Man jailed for 2019 murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Roopchan Taylor was earlier today, at the Supreme Court, sentenced to eight years in prison for the unlawful killing of 66-year-old cab driver Aaron Damdar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident occurred at Ogle Sideline Dam back in October of 2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sexagenarian died days after he fell to the ground after being hit in the face by Taylor who had come to the aid of his mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is reported that Taylor\u2019s mom who was intoxicated was attacked by a taxi driver while she was trying to board the car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Having heard the commotion Taylor came to his mother\u2019s aid resulting in an argument.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Taylor\u2019s eight-year sentence will be deducted from time already spent on remand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Reporting by Nakasia Logan.<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Roopchan Taylor was earlier today, at the Supreme Court, sentenced to eight years in prison for the unlawful killing of 66-year-old cab driver Aaron Damdar.
