These agreements also acknowledge the government&#8217;s commitment to providing ongoing support as needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Furthermore, Nandlall clarified that the financial assistance being provided to these families is unrelated to the intended commission of inquiry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mahdia dorm fire claimed the lives of 20 children, including 19 girls and the son of the dorm mother.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 15-year-old girl has been charged with 20 counts of murder and has been remanded into juvenile custody.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Government of Guyana has announced plans to provide significant financial assistance to the families who tragically lost their children in the Mahdia dorm fire.
