{"id":11690,"date":"2023-07-02T20:43:22","date_gmt":"2023-07-02T20:43:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/?p=11690"},"modified":"2023-07-02T20:43:24","modified_gmt":"2023-07-02T20:43:24","slug":"36-blind-visually-impaired-individuals-to-benefit-from-opms-computer-literacy-program","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/36-blind-visually-impaired-individuals-to-benefit-from-opms-computer-literacy-program\/","title":{"rendered":"36 Blind &amp; Visually Impaired Individuals to Benefit from OPM&#8217;s Computer Literacy Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\"><\/div>\n\n<p>Thirty-six blind and visually impaired persons will be trained in Computer Literacy through a programme now being offered by the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The individuals to benefit from the skills are predominantly from Regions 3, 4, 5 and 6.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was also noted that the three-month programme will be executed using <em>Job Access With Speech \u2013<\/em><em> <\/em><em>referred to as<\/em><em> <\/em><em>(JAWS) and is expected to commence by next week. <\/em><em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Moreover, a<\/em>mong the topic areas are keyboard orientation, editing and formatting and internet and email usage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This programme is part of the Government\u2019s efforts to bridge the digital gap and ensure there is equality in every sector including Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prime Minister, Mark Phillips says ICT is critical for education, career and communication activities \u2013 which is why the Government is working to provide equal access across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Prime-minister-mark-Phillips.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11692\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Prime-minister-mark-Phillips.jpg 640w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Prime-minister-mark-Phillips-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/ncnguyana.com\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/07\/Prime-minister-mark-Phillips-105x157.jpg 105w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Prime Minister of Guyana, Hon.
