Teachers from various regions in Guyana have praised the ongoing World Archery Coaches course held at the National Resource Center.
The five-day Olympic Solidarity Coaching Course, organized through the Guyana Olympic Association’s Olympic Solidarity Fund, is a collaborative effort with the Unit of Allied Arts at the Ministry of Education and Archery Guyana.
Conducted by World Archery, the course began with theoretical and practical sessions, involving 21 participants from regions 1, 9, and 4.
Teachers from schools such as Kawata Primary Top, Santa Rosa Secondary, Sand Creek Secondary, Aishalton Secondary, Nappi Primary Top, Katoka Primary Top, Queen’s College, ISA Islamic School, and School of the Nations are taking part, with six participants sponsored by the Unit of Allied Arts.
Layne Thomas from Aishalton Secondary in region 9 expressed appreciation for the program, noting its impact on expanding his knowledge of the sport at the grassroots level.
Bradley Rodrigues of Sand Creek Secondary mentioned that the course equipped him with the depth of knowledge needed to train students effectively.
World Archery Coach’s trainer Ludys Carina Tejada highlighted the positive impact of the coaching course on the growth of archery in Guyana, anticipating an increase in local players as a result.
