‘Wonderboy’ Preps for Major Comeback in Boxing Ring

November 21, 2024

Edmund ‘Wonderboy’ DeClou is preparing for a highly anticipated return to the boxing ring at the Guyana National Stadium on November 30, 2024.

A victory in this upcoming bout will secure his place to represent Guyana in the prestigious Contender Series set to take place in Jamaica later this year.

DeClou, known for his impressive boxing career, was recently seen in action at the Speightland Community Ground, where he is undergoing rigorous training.

Speaking about his preparation, DeClou emphasized the importance of hard work in achieving success, saying, “Train hard to make your wins easy.”

Boxing coach Orland Rogers, who has been working closely with DeClou, shared his confidence in the fighter’s readiness for the match.

Rogers noted that DeClou’s dedication and hard work will be key in ensuring a victorious return to the ring.

The 2024 comeback is especially significant for DeClou, who first entered the boxing world at the age of six under the guidance of the late Dirk Alexander.

Over a decade ago, he earned a remarkable win against the renowned Guyanese boxer Howard ‘Battersea Bomber’ Eastman, further cementing his place in Guyana’s boxing history.

As DeClou continues his preparation, he is calling on the public for their support in his journey, asking for encouragement from local fans and businesses.

With a strong team behind him and the nation’s hopes on his shoulders, DeClou is set to give it his all as he aims for success in the Contender Series.
