As part of the lead-up activities for ECONOME V: Swim Differently, twenty talented women from across Guyana’s creative sector came together at AMICI for an inspiring evening of learning, networking and meaningful conversation centered on personal branding, collaboration and professional growth.

The event featured presentations from media personality, entrepreneur and storyteller Macaela Cameron and entrepreneur Susan Ibrahim, both of whom shared practical insights aimed at helping creatives strengthen their impact and expand their opportunities.

Drawing from more than a decade of experience in media, entrepreneurship and storytelling, Macaela Cameron encouraged attendees to build brands that are memorable rather than merely visible. She emphasized that people remember personality before credentials and reminded creatives that their reputation, relationships and consistency are all part of their brand. From showing up in the right rooms to sharing the process behind the work, she challenged participants to become intentional about their visibility and to build brands that people can recognize, trust and recommend.

Susan Ibrahim delivered an engaging presentation titled “Collaboration: The New Currency of Success,” encouraging attendees to move beyond competition and embrace the power of partnerships. She highlighted the importance of relationships, trust, communication and shared opportunities, while challenging creatives to shift their mindset from asking, “What’s in it for me?” to “What can we create together?” Her presentation reinforced the idea that the strongest brands do not simply build audiences, they build communities and ecosystems.

Beyond the presentations, the event created a valuable space for women creatives from diverse disciplines to connect, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for future collaboration. The discussions throughout the evening reinforced a common theme: success is amplified when talented individuals work together rather than in isolation.

The organizers extend sincere gratitude to the team at AMICI for graciously hosting the event and providing a warm and welcoming environment that fostered authentic conversations, new connections and creative exchange.

As one of several lead-up engagements planned ahead of ECONOME V, the event reflects the conference’s continued commitment to creating spaces where professionals, entrepreneurs and creatives can learn, connect and grow together.

With twenty inspiring women in attendance, the event marked another important step toward strengthening Guyana’s creative ecosystem and empowering more women to build, collaborate and succeed together.
