Dr. Ashni Singh, Minister of Finance, addressed aspiring women entrepreneurs at a joint business brunch and finance seminar organized by the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana and American Chamber.

The event aimed to foster collaboration and partnership among industry leaders for business growth.

Dr. Singh highlighted the wealth of opportunities within Guyana’s growing economy, advising entrepreneurs to identify niches where they have competitive advantages.

He emphasized the need for understanding one’s strengths and capabilities to succeed in local and global markets.

In today’s competitive landscape, Dr. Singh emphasized that entering the market based solely on sentiment is insufficient.

True success, he noted, comes from being globally competitive.

Dr. Singh also referenced Guyana’s Local Content Legislation, which outlines forty categories of goods and services reserved for local participation.

He encouraged entrepreneurs to explore these opportunities seriously.

The seminar, themed ‘Leveraging Your Assets for Sustainable Success’, stressed strategic planning and effective asset utilization for sustainable business growth.
