The 2020 Elections Fraud case resumed Monday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court, with former GECOM IT Manager Aneal Giddings continuing his evidence.

Giddings testified that during the national recount, he was responsible for verifying each Statement of Recount and identified discrepancies in the District Four declarations.

Giddings is currently under evidence -in-chief and has confirmed receiving the declarations on March 7 and March 14, 2020, with instructions to upload them to GECOM’s website.

He confirmed receiving and uploading the declarations dated March 7 and March 14, 2020 to GECOM’s website, explaining that he was the only person responsible for website uploads at the time. Prosecutor Latchmie Rahamat described Giddings’ testimony as significant due to his crucial role during the recount process.

“He noted in court in evidence that there was a decrease in the number of votes based on observation for the APNU/AFC in the sum of approximately 19,000 while an increase he noted in a statement of recount for the PPP/C’s votes of approximately 3,000. His evidence have to continue on tomorrows date and we look forward to the completion of his evidence,” he said.

GECOM Public Relations Officer Yolanda Warde also took the stand, detailing that she received instructions from then Chief Elections Officer Keith Lowenfield to post declarations for all ten districts, and later to replace the District Four declarations with updated versions. Warde said she relayed these instructions to Giddings, who uploaded the new documents to the Commission’s website.

“That information has already been cooperated by other witnesses before who testified before the court indicating to the magistrate that they would’ve seen on the GECOM website declaration for district 4 was posted after the 5th of march 2020, now Ms. Yolanda Warde has confirmed that,” he said.

The case continues Tuesday, September 15, at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
