Windies Fall to England in Second T20I, Trail Series 2-0

The West Indies cricket team has fallen to a 2-0 deficit in their five-match T20 International series against England after a seven-wicket loss in the second match at Kensington Oval, Barbados.

Batting first, the West Indies posted a total of 158 for eight, with Rovman Powell leading the way with 43 runs.

The team struggled early, losing three wickets within the first four overs for just 35 runs.

Contributions from Romario Shepherd, who added 22 runs, helped stabilize the innings slightly, but the total remained below par.

England’s bowlers were effective, with Dan Mousley, Liam Livingstone, and Saqib Mahmood each taking two wickets.

In response, England comfortably chased down the target, scoring 161 for three in just 14.5 overs.

Captain Jos Buttler anchored the innings with an unbeaten 83, supported by Will Jacks with 38 runs and Livingstone contributing 23.

Shepherd was the standout performer with the ball for the West Indies, taking two wickets for 42 runs, but it was not enough to stem the visitors’ strong batting performance.

The loss highlights ongoing challenges for the West Indies batting lineup, which has struggled to build partnerships and capitalize on key moments in the series.

The team will need to regroup quickly as they prepare for the third match, which is scheduled to take place on Thursday at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia at 4 PM.

With the series now on the line, the West Indies must win the next game to keep their chances alive in the five-match contest.
