January 28, 2025

West Indies Head Coach Andre Coley has expressed his admiration for the mental resilience shown by his team following their impressive series-levelling victory over Pakistan in the second Test match on Monday in Multan.

After suffering a heavy 127-run defeat in the first Test, the West Indies bounced back strongly, securing a 120-run win in the second match from January 25-27.

This victory allowed the Caribbean team to level the series and marked their first Test win in Pakistan since 1990.

The result also concluded their final series in the World Test Championship cycle.

In his final series as Test coach, Coley acknowledged the team’s ability to adapt and improve over the course of the two-match series.

He highlighted the squad’s adjustments in both batting and bowling, which were crucial to their turnaround after the initial loss.

Coley was particularly impressed by the players’ ability to maintain their composure and adjust to the challenging conditions.

Reflecting on the team’s performance over the past year, Coley emphasized the importance of capitalizing on opportunities to further progress in their careers.

He urged players to remain focused and hungry for success as they move forward, acknowledging that each series presents an opportunity for personal and team growth.

The West Indies now shift their focus to future series, with the aim of building on the momentum gained from their impressive win against Pakistan.
