Williams and Beck Reign Supreme in Kares Caribbean CrossFit Championship

In a display of exceptional athleticism, Gene Beck and Dashawna Williams emerged as the crowned champions of crossfit in the Kares Caribbean Championship held at the National Park tarmac.

Additionally, the Guyanese A-team, comprising Delice Adonis, Tonnica Dey, Cristopher Henery, and Kellon Reid, delivered a stellar performance, securing victory in the team event.

On a humid Sunday afternoon, the region’s fittest athletes undertook a series of grueling challenges to claim the coveted title of the Caribbean’s fittest. In the women’s category, Guyanese sensation DaShawna Williams clinched victory, narrowly surpassing her closest rival by a mere five points, finishing with an impressive total of 457 points. This marked only her second fitness event, making her achievement all the more remarkable.

Expressing her elation, Williams emphasized the significance of this accomplishment in her championship journey, highlighting the immense personal growth it symbolizes.

In the men’s category, Surinamese athlete Gene Beck, representing Core Five, demonstrated exceptional resilience, prevailing over challenging conditions to secure a total of 471 points and claim the title. Beck acknowledged the strenuous nature of the competition and commended his fellow athletes for their unwavering determination.

In the team event, the A-team, consisting of Adonis, Dey, Henery, and Reid, exhibited exceptional teamwork and cohesion, dominating the competition and clinching the fitness title with an impressive 488 points. Team Sparta and Team Muscle secured second and third places, with 470 and 452 points respectively.

Team captain Adonis attributed their success to their outstanding teamwork, underscoring its pivotal role in their triumphant performance.
