Western Tigers Secure Convincing 4-0 Victory Over Ann’s Grove in KFC Elite League

In a dominating display of skill and prowess, Western Tigers clinched a resounding 4-0 victory over Ann’s Grove to maintain their unbeaten streak in the ongoing KFC Elite League Season 6.

The match took place at the GFF National Training Center ground at Providence over the weekend.

Ann’s Grove, fresh from their season-opening upset win against Fruta Conquerors, faced a tough challenge against the West Ruimveldt-based Western Tigers.

The Tigers took control early, breaking through Ann’s Grove’s defense in the 32nd minute to take the lead.

Veteran striker Andrew Murray showcased his experience by finding the net in the 54th minute, extending Western Tigers’ lead to 2-0.

Randolph Wagner (63rd minute) and Jermain Beckles (70th minute) further solidified the victory with two additional goals, sealing a comprehensive 4-0 win for Western Tigers.

In the featured clash, defending champions Guyana Defense Force (GDF) demonstrated their championship pedigree with a commanding 6-1 victory over Buxton United.

Cedric Osbourne opened the scoring for GDF in the 9th minute, followed by a Tehav Gordon goal for Buxton United in the 19th minute.

However, GDF quickly regained control, with skipper Colin Nelson scoring in the 37th minute to put his team ahead.

Abumchi Benjamin added two goals (44th and 63rd minute), while Delroy Fraser (86th minute) and Ian Booker (injury time) contributed to the commanding 6-1 victory for GDF.

The league action continues with another doubleheader on Tuesday, featuring Slingerz FC against Fruta Conquerors and Santos facing Den Amstel.

With ninety scheduled games across multiple grounds in Georgetown, West Coast Demerara, East Bank Demerara, and Berbice, fans can expect more thrilling football action in the upcoming matches.
