West Indies Ready for Tough Challenge Against New Zealand in ICC T20 World Cup

By Eric Collymore

The West Indies are set to face New Zealand tomorrow in a highly anticipated ICC T20 World Cup clash at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago.

Spinner Akeal Hosein, who recently set a record with his five-wicket haul against Uganda, says the team is prepared for a stern test against the Black Caps.

Hosein acknowledged the formidable challenge New Zealand presents, emphasizing the importance of relying on the experience of senior squad members. “It’s a boost for us,” Hosein remarked indicating the team’s confidence and readiness for the upcoming match.

The West Indies currently sit second in Group C, having secured victories against Papua New Guinea and Uganda.

Their consistent performance has set the stage for a crucial encounter with New Zealand.

The Black Caps, on the other hand, are entering Wednesday’s game with high motivation, especially after a disappointing loss to Afghanistan, who lead the group.

New Zealand’s captain, Kane Williamson, stressed the team’s focus on achieving a positive outcome.

The match between West Indies and New Zealand is scheduled for Wednesday, June 12, with the first ball to be bowled at 20:30 hours.
