West Indies Limited overs head coach Daren Sammy is optimistic about his team’s chances as they prepare to face host Australia in the first of three T20 Internationals on Friday.
Coming off lackluster performances in their three-match ODI series against Australia, the West Indies team is now focusing on the T20 series, aiming to salvage some pride.
Coach Daren Sammy emphasized that the team has moved past their previous performances and is focused on the task at hand.
Sammy stressed the importance of a positive mindset, especially with the bat, if they are to succeed against their opponents.
With West Indies and Australia having met 19 times in T20Is, the Caribbean unit has won 10 matches compared to Australia’s nine.
The series serves as a buildup to the ICC T20 World Cup in June, and Sammy highlighted that the team’s confidence is growing as they approach this marquee tournament.
