In a low-scoring affair on Tuesday, the West Indies batsmen crumbled under pressure from the Bangladeshi bowlers, falling by 27 runs and handing the visitors an unassailable 2-0 lead in their three-match T20 series.

Opting to bowl first, the West Indies made an early breakthrough, putting the Bangladeshis on the back foot at 52 for five after 11 overs.

However, Bangladesh fought back, with Shamim Hossain top-scoring with 35 runs, supported by Mehidy Hasan (26) and Jaker Ali (21), as they managed to reach a total of 129 for seven after their allotted 20 overs.

Gudakesh Motie led the Windies’ bowling attack with two wickets, while Alzarri Joseph, Roston Chase, Akeal Hosein, and Obed McCoy each took one wicket apiece.

Chasing a modest 130 for victory, the West Indies found themselves in trouble early on, slumping to 42 for six after just 8.3 overs.

Although Roston Chase (32) and Akeal Hosein (31) mounted a valiant fightback, their efforts were not enough to steer the team to victory.

The Windies were bowled out for 102 runs in the 19th over, handing Bangladesh the win.

Taskin Ahmed was the star for Bangladesh, finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 16 from 3.3 overs, leading the Bangladeshi attack.

With the victory, Bangladesh has taken a commanding lead in the series.

The third and final match will take place on Thursday, December 19, at 20:00 hours.
