West Indies Announces Squads for ODI and T20 Series Against Australia

The Cricket West Indies Senior Selection Panel has unveiled the 15-man squads set to compete against Australia in three One Day Internationals (ODI) and three T20 Internationals from February 2 to 13.

The squads include notable selections and exclusions.

Guyanese wicketkeeper-batsman Tevin Imlach has secured a spot in the Windies ODI squad, joining fellow countrymen Gudakesh Motie and Romario Shepherd.

Imlach, currently with the test team in Australia, boasts an impressive average of 30.1 from 26 List A matches.

The ODI squad introduces two debutants: Grenadian top-order batsman Teddy Bishop and Tevin Imlach.

However, several familiar names are absent from the squad.

Notable exclusions include Brandon King and Sherfane Rutherford, who have opted for T20 franchise contracts during this period.

Additionally, Shimron Hetmyer and Yannic Cariah did not make the cut.

The upcoming white-ball series follows the scheduled test series between Australia and the West Indies, commencing on January 17 and concluding on January 29.

The West Indies will aim to carry their momentum from the successful ODI series against England in December into the contests against Australia.

Cricket enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the clashes between these cricketing powerhouses in what promises to be an exciting series.
