WCCIG’s Guyana Women and Girls Summit: Empowering Through Inclusion and Inspiration

The Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry Guyana (WCCIG) recently convened its fourth annual Guyana Women and Girls Summit at the Marriott Hotel, coinciding with International Women’s Day.

The summit served as a crucial platform for women from diverse backgrounds to gather in a nurturing environment, sharing experiences and fostering empowerment.

Themed “Inspire, Invest, Include,” the summit aimed to empower and include women and girls across the nation, targeting individuals aged 14 to 17 and 18 and over.

Rowena Elliot, President of WCCIG, stressed the significance of inclusion, emphasizing the need to create spaces where everyone, regardless of gender, can fully engage in all aspects of life.

Elliot highlighted the importance of breaking down barriers hindering women from realizing their full potential and advocated for empowering women to assume leading roles in society.

The event featured panel discussions with esteemed guests, networking sessions, and an exhibition, providing attendees with valuable opportunities for learning, networking, and personal growth.

With approximately 100 women in attendance, the summit received sponsorship from companies like SBM Offshore, Digicel Business, GBTI, and MASSY.

The Guyana Women and Girls Summit epitomized empowerment and inspiration, underscoring WCCIG’s commitment to supporting and uplifting women in Guyana.

Through meaningful dialogue and engagement, the summit aimed to cultivate a more inclusive and supportive environment, enabling women to thrive across all spheres of life.
