Watooka Day Primary School Celebrates Dads with Cookout

In anticipation of International Men’s Day on November 19, Watooka Day Primary School in Linden organized a special Daddy Cookout, a fundraising event that received strong support from fathers. The event aimed to foster greater father involvement in their children’s school life.

Nigel London, President of the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), highlighted the significance of the event in promoting increased paternal engagement.

The event not only served as a platform for fundraising but also provided an opportunity for fathers to showcase their culinary skills in a friendly cooking competition.

Nigel London expressed his hopes for the impact of the activity on the children, emphasizing the positive message about fathers being actively involved in various aspects of life, including cooking.

The grade four fathers, in particular, demonstrated a high level of competitiveness in the cookout. Esley DeYounge, expressing confidence in winning, emphasized the meaningful experience gained from participating.

The Daddy Cookout is part of Watooka Day Primary School’s broader efforts to encourage parental involvement.

The event not only raised funds for the school but also created a memorable and engaging experience for both fathers and children.

As International Men’s Day approaches, the Daddy Cookout stands out as a celebration of fathers and a demonstration of their active participation in the school community.
